New Hope Coalition has been recognized by the IRS as a charitable 501(c)3 organization since 2012. Initially the entire organization was known by the name of the church, New Hope Coalition. As of February 2016 the Executive Board voted to rename the organization to New Hope Coalition. This organizational change has been submitted to the IRS. Confirmation that the IRS has recognized this change will be forthcoming.
